Alan Partridge is Steve Coogan's greatest comedy character, indeed I would say that the first series of 'I'm Alan Partridge' is one of the greatest comedy shows ever, so it has to be said that when I heard the character was to be transferred to the big screen, I felt some trepidation, I mean 'Ali G:The Movie' anyone?
Fear not though, Partridge is back, co written by Armando Iannucci, the plot isn't too over the top (fired DJ takes Radio station staff hostage, AP is enlisted to negotiate!) the laughs, though not side splitting are consistent and not too slap stick ("I'm a hairs breath from the morning show, I'm gonna call it The Morning Rooster...or Talking Cock!") and Alan is as "lovable" and endearing as ever.
