Based on the true story of the 'Beltway sniper attacks' of 2002 when 10 random people were gunned down in the states of Maryland and Virginia. Blue Caprice is a cold chilling re-enactment of the events from the killers perspective, bitter divorced Father John Allen Muhammad (Isaiah Washington) and his impressionable young son Lee (Tequan Richmond).
Slowly paced, there's no Hollywood flash here, the awful events are handled sensitively as possible, the murders shown as brutal, callous and senseless, the acting from the two leads is excellent, the subject grim and at times, painful, but it's a mature study of 21st Century gun violence in the USA, something that is too often repeated year on year.
