Two friends Vicky (Rebecca Hall) and Christina (Scarlett Johansson) travel to Barcelona so that Vicky can work on her post graduate degree, whilst there they meet the handsome and charismatic Juan (Javier Bardem-the Bond bad guy from last year) and soon a complicated love triangle envelopes everyone's lives.

The Spanish setting is perfect for this warm romantic drama directed by Woody Allen with a great cast that also includes the sensual but slightly manic Penelope Cruz as Juan's ex Wife Maria. It contains the usual traits of a Woody Allen film, neurosis, romance and sex but with a likeable cast (especially Scarlett ♥) and gorgeous sun soaked settings, this is an enjoyable romantic drama that doesn't descend into chick flick territory.
