Bullet To The Head (2013)

 

Stallone plays "Jim Bob, out for revenge (isn't he always) he teams up with Cop Taylor Kwan (Sung Kang) to hunt down the killer of their 'partner'.

 

Director Walter Hill made his name with two great films in the early 80s, "48 Hrs" and the classic "Southern Comfort" but since then it's been pretty much downhill and this is no exception. Seedy, squalid characters, sporadic silly violence (why is it that apart from the lead characters no one can shoot straight?) and a mumbling, bumbling, meat headed robotic performance from Stallone, which is bad by even his poor standards.

 

This type of movie was popular in the early 80s but time has moved on, Walter Hill hasn't and neither has Stallone.
