The Stand Up Guys (2013)

The premise is so promising, an ex-con, Val (Pacino) is released after serving a 28 year stretch and is reunited with is two best friends Doc and Hirsh (Chris Walken, Alan Arkin), their bond is as strong as ever but one harbours a dark secret.....

Oh dear.I'd been so looking forward to this since first reading about it in Total Film a few months ago, but what a dreadful let down, Pacino's character is tedious, you wish the authorities would lock him up after suffering his jabbering on after less than half hour, the screenplay runs at a snails pace, the first hour is painful at times, hopeless dialogue, characters you don't care for, is this a comedy because it sure as hell isn't funny??

A disappointing bore.
