Frankenweenie (2012)

A everyday tale of a young boy Victor (Frankenstein) who loses his dog and decides to resurrect him in an experiment one stormy night. It's a stop motion 'animated' film directed by Tim Burton and a loving homage to the 1930's Universal horror movies, what could go wrong?

Nothing.Utterly charming, beautifully animated, wacky but lovely warm characters, funny with loads of nods to the films Tim Burton so obviously loves (Bride Of Frankenstein, The Mummy and of course Frankenstein)

I've always been a fan of Burton for some time and he's created some great fantasy films in the past two decades ( Batman, Edward Scissorhands, Nightmare Before Christmas, Charlie And The Chocolate Factory) but the past few years have seen a drop in his high standards (Alice In Wonderland, Dark Shadows) but this is a real return to glory, I loved every minute of it, highly recommended for children and adults alike.
