Mary is a Medical Student who's finding her finances stretched, she answers an ad and soon the lure A heady mix of Cronenberg and Lynch with a splash of 'torture porn' thrown in, American Mary for the first part is a fine slightly feminist modern horror.Katherine Isabelle is excellent as Mary, devious, sexy and smart but sadly the supporting cast are lack lustre and almost cartoonish, and the final third of the movie starts to flag as it seems to run out of ideas and direction.
Good, but not as great as some critics have you believe.
