Only God Forgives (2013)

Last years 'Drive' was one of the films of the year with a great performance from Ryan Gosling in a classy, violent adult drama, so the reuniting of actor and director Nicholas Winding Refn was met by much anticipation in the movie world, myself included.

Oh dear, where do I start. The filmshuffles along at a  painfully slow pace, with  what seem like almost no dialogue for half an hour, in fact Gosling only speaks his first sentence after 28 minutes! Pretentious, misogynistic, sometimes bordering on vile, Gosling spends most of his screen time looking like...well Ryan Gosling, white t-shirt, stubble, six pack, eye candy for the ladies for sure, that sadly is his sole contribution  from director Refn.

Quite a feat then from Refn to produce one of the films of 2012 to belching out this ketamine induced turkey.
