Mud (2013)

No it's not a biopic of the 70's Brit crooners, but the tale of two boys who find a boat, in a tree, and a fugitive called Mud (Mathew McConaughy) on a small Mississippi island. He tells them tales of murder and betrayal and they promise to help it escape.

The two young lead Tye Sheridan and Jacob Lofland are both excellent, as is the ever dependable McConaughy, nice to see Reece Witherspoon in a good role too. A warm, moody coming of age drama slightly reminiscent of the classic "Stand By Me".
